Sightseeing and Protests in Washington DC

Adam, Tetto, Ali and I decided to do a quick tour of downtown DC before heading to the Nats game that evening. The plan was to start at the Capitol and walk down the Mall hitting the major monuments and ending in Georgetown for dinner.
At the same time we decided to visit, Cindy Sheehan and her traveling circus came to DC to stage an Anti-War protest. That had slipped my mind until we got on the Metro... One gentleman got on the Metro in a black T-Shirt, on the front it said "Heil Bush (The S being the dual lighting bolt SS symbol) and on the back "Welcome to the neo-Conservative Fourth Reich". "This is going to be entertaining", I thought to myself. Eventually we made it down by the White House where the protestors had set up camp.
Talk about entertaining! Every Anti-Bush group was represented... And it wasn't too pretty. Am I the only one that wonders how Gays for Peace can march next to a Pro-Palestine (and Anti-Israel) group? Don't they realize the only place in the Middle East that accepts gays is Israel? There were lots of ex-hippies that have been waiting since the late 60's to throw on the tie die and grab a protest sign. The American Socialist Party was handing out literature and I'm sad I didn't pick anything up for my collection of silliness.
It's pretty sad, I have lots of close friends that have no love for George Bush and were opposed to the Iraq War. They're nothing like the nut-jobs that were at this rally! I've left most of the photos w/o captions so the signs can speak for themselves.
