Old School - Climbing Mt Washington for the first time
In honor of our fifth climb up Mt Washington I dug up some old pictures, scanned them in and dusted off the old memory to put our first trip on the web.
Salemi remembered a guy at work had one of those "This car climbed Mt. Washington" stickers on his car and it gave him an idea. He mentioned it to Shridhar at a party at Paul Harvey's place, and the next week Shridhar was making the plans...and the rest is history.
The crew, sans Shridhar, at the base camp. Top: Dean, Craig. Bottom: John, Rich, Kirk, Duane, Paul.

Climbing up for the first time, no one had any idea what to expect. Notice the lack of camelbacks and other equiptment that has become standard.

The first trip was a bit rainy on the way up, little did we know what to expect...

The fog got worse as we got further up the mountain, and the rain started to fall harder.

By the time we made it to the top we could barely see and monsoon was brewing...

After waiting out the weather we headed down the access road. Some of us had small issues with the chilli they ate at the top.

Craig made it up the mountain first and he is barely winded as we are all ready to pass out.

Soon... Beer... And food... Little did we know that this would become our tradition.
